I have a male betta in my 20 gallon community tank and a female betta in my 10 gallon community tank. My male has never built a nest at all and I would like to attemp to breed them but was wondering what I can do to encourage the male to build a nest. Then I also was wondering how I know if the female is ready to breed. I mean if he builds a nest can I put her in and she will breed or is there something I need to do to get her ready too? I have read many different things and just ended up more confused so I thought I would ask the experts on AC.
