Found out on Monday that there was one case of swine flu at my grandson's school,i was like "oh no" worried for my grandson with his poor immune system, also worried for his mum who is nearly 31 weeks pregnant. On Monday my youngest son Dominic said someone at college had to go home early with a really bad sore throat. I didn't think much of it. This morning Dominic woke up so poorly, burning up,really sore throat, body aches and a cough. I rang the drs, duty dr called me back asked the symptoms etc and has prescribed him the anti viral drug Tamiflu. I don't know if he has it for definite ,think they are being careful, but he sure is poorly . So i guess i will get a dose too, watch this space!!!

Bet ya glad you're all far away friends now lol ;)

I hope he gets better soon Jane. The Great Swine Scare of 09 seems to have died down over here.

Thanks Seth,it has died down over here too just new cases reported in general in the news. The figures can't be true figures because here now they are not swabbing people, just giving out the meds as precaution,so technically you don't know who has really had it.

Oh wow hope your son feels better soon. Swine flu scare has gone down here too only here random reports bout it on the news from time to time. Wish ya the best of luck.

Jane hope your son is feeling better soon!! And stay healthy yourself. I think the news stations here in the states were told to stop talking about it so much so the emerency room clinics wouldn't be so backed up as they were. It continues to spread though, I've watched it creep all around my town, finally to come to town just a few weeks ago. You don't see it in the paper, but my sons tell me who's got it now.

Best of health to you and your family.

I live in Queens, NY which is where there was a large breakout of confirmed cases at a private school from students returning from Mexico. The best thing to do is keep up with good hygiene and try not to worry. I have some distant relatives in Mexico City too, and so far no one has gotten sick.

At my school there are two confirmed cases and two unconfirmed cases but they have yet to shut the school, much to the dismay of many pupils!

Thankyou guys for the kind words and thoughts ,i very much appreciate it :)

It's been kept quiet here too i think, definitely cannot turn up at the drs or hospital if you think you may have it.

You can always rely on kids to find stuff out Debbi, nothing like the grapevine for getting to know what's going on.

We're keeping up good hygiene,he's resting plenty and drinking lots of fluids along with regular pain meds and the anti viral drugs. His temperature finally broke last night and he's normal temp again ,so that's one thing sorted, but still feeling very rough.

Thankyou again guys and i hope you all stay fit and healthy too :)
