If you have leafy plants, and a few of the leaves are showing signs of distress (brown spots, holes), is it better to just let nautre take it's course, or trim out the bad ones?

Browning/yellowing leaves are dying. It is better to prune them off which allows the nutirents in the plant to be used for healthy leaves and new growth. It also looks nicer :D

If it's older leaves getting brown, you can snip them off, that's normal. but if it's the new leaves showing bad symptoms, then you probably have a nutrient deficiency and you need to fertilize.

Well, it's only the leaves that were already on the plant when I planted them... new growth is coming in healthy, the older stuff is what's having an issue.

I figure it's just adjustment gripes.... although one plant has already lost half it growth - the cories are really picking at it.

Leaving them in will probably lead to high levels of ammonia and nitrites as the leaves decay. bets to pick them out. At the very least the excess nutrients from the decay might end up leading to algae problems.
