The one floater I despise is duck weed. It will over-populate the top of the tank quickly. Removing it is an endless task. A surface skimmer or goldfish are two ways to control it. Don't put it in your tank on purpose. IM0...

Duckweed is excellent fertilizer for household plants or gardens. Used this way it can be kept thin. Some folks eat it!

i have a water hyicenth about 3-4 inches diamiter if you are interested i have 2 of them but the other is like a inch in diamiter
