possible sump. Would this work?

Doesn't look to be for a fresh water tank with that skimmer on it.

ok, thanks. I'm clueless about this sump thing.

the tank I have has a plastic curved little wall in two corners. It has two holes drilled in the bottom of each corner. What does this mean for set up?

I now have a digital camera so I can take a photo if that would help.

I don't know much about sumps either other then that it is one of the most common DIY filters mostly by salt water folks but I have seen them on fresh water as well. If I was interested in investing that kind of money like you are, I would do allot of DIY research on them. That way you'll have a good idea what type you need and which one worls best. Personnally I just lieka good canister even if its used.

well, this tank is drilled...so I have to use a sump right?
My new-used tank has a hole drilled in one corner.It came with some plastic parts that screw together to seal the hole and has a plastic 1/2 inch barb? on the outside.Not using the hole right now just leaving it sealed up;

Gotcha. I don't have anything that came with the tank. I got it second hand (for $180). It's never been filed though.

I sump would be good for goldfish though right? since they are so messy?

i own 4 of those Tom wet/dry filters i use on 4 large tanks. YES you can use them for freshwater all my tanks are freshwater. Tom makes a excellent wet/dry filter the skimmer part you just dont use on a fresh water so you dont hook that piece up.
