How do you folks manage to keep the breeder box afloat without those pesky adult brigs coming in and then weighing it down with their weight as they eat the babies' foods?:nilly:

As I had dreaded, I went to my snail tanks after I just woke up and to my horror, the breeder box was on the bottom already which means my estimated 400 brigs got their freedom when I was hoping to grow them in the breeder box in the meantime.:irked:

*time to toss aside my MTS and move the adult brigs I think*
 
Lupe- don't breeder boxes usually come with some kind of suction cup to stick to the side of the glass? (she asks, not really certain.) I'm pretty sure that the one I got on my last box lot purchase had four suction cups-- unless we aren't talking about the same thing.
 
The suction cups suck and this set became very stiff that they won't stick anymore. I've been wondering how to keep it afloat without using suction cups for some time.lol
 
can you place a grate on the top to prevent them from comming in??

can you put strings on it and tie/stick them to the sides so it is in the center? that way it would be harder for them to get on/in??

Those won't stop the snails from weighing the breeder box down like a rowboat.:huh:
 
What about one of those hang over shelf things that are used for holding air pumps to the sides of metal stands? That would hook to the front or back of the aquarium, and the box would sit on it, wouldn't it?
 
lupin, use those rare earth magnets, the ones that if you are holding one between your hand and a light pole it will take your hand off!!! lol
