I have a 72 bowfront that I'm thinking about putting Mbuna in. My water here in Texas is like liquid rock, so I should be good on that end. I'm running a 300W heater and two Pengiun 350s.

What would be a good combo to put in this tank to have a peaceful (or as can be) tank where they all get along and don't shread each other?

I was thinking about yellow labs and yellow tail acai (sp)? What numbers would be good for them?

Is there any other Mbuna other than those two that would be better?

Thanks for any help!

Not as a substitute but in addition to, you could have 2 more species (even 3 more, but I'm a fan of larger groups rather than more species of just minimum ratios). Rusties would be a good third specie for labs and acei, albino socolofi as well (they are a little more aggressive than the 3, but not as aggressive as regular socolofis).

You could stock 6 labs and 6 acei (since both do better in larger groups, 1 or 2 males to 4 or 5 females), about 4 albino socolofis (1:3) and 5 or 6 rusties (1:4/5), since they're dwarfs and stay pretty small, might also consider saulosis (another dwarf mbuna).

Not sure how 2 penguins would handle the bioload though, I'd probably get a canister as well.

With labs, aceis, rusties and albino socolofis, ibr3ak is mentioning my tank setup; as a matter of fact. It is working nicely and you can see it using the link that appears below, on my signature.

Also a group of Saulosi or Afra type species would compliment the setup as well..
