Hello, all. I have been using a Python for a year or two, and think it is one the best purchases an aquarist can make. I have added a new tank that is a couple of rooms away, and need to get an extension or two. I have two questions about the Python 20' extension hose.

1) Can you connect two of these together? I mean is one end male and the other end female?
2) Do you lose suction power the longer your hose is?

Thanks to anyone that can answer.

You can connect together several sections and it works fine. I have a couple tanks I keep at work, and I used to need more than 100' of Python extender to reach, until I got an office closer to a sink. Even at that distance, I lost a little bit of suction, but not enough to worry about.

An extra 20' or 50' shouldn't be any problem at all; you probably won't notice a difference.

HTH,
Jim

Thanks Jim. Just what I was hoping to hear.

I'll second Jim's comments. I added a tank at home some time back and had to add a 20' extension to reach it. I've never been able to tell any real difference in operation.
