what is this plant?

Okay, this thing has appeared almost overnight, andis very quickly spreading. I call it the lilypad plant, I have looked in several MArine books thinking it was a form of algae, but so for no luck. Does anyone have a clue as to what this is, or where I should look?

I saw something of that description and was told its a form of a macro algae, Post a picture to be sure though.
