Hey all, been a while since i posted, question though. So i didnt some plant trimming maintenance today and going through i noticed that the right side of my tank is very colorful and has relatively little amounts of shooters. The left side of my tank on the other hand is just kinda green when it should be red and has a lot alot alot of shooters.

Now from what i have read and if i remember correctly, plants extend shooters to gather nutrients from the water coumn if it lacks in the substrate?

Also important to note that i had wisteria in the tank which i just removed it all since it is a nutrient hog, it was on both sides of the tank and the filter spray bar is on the left side. and ideas?

need more info. tank size? co2? lights? near a window? (could be the reason if one side of the tank is closer to a window) do you dose or use root tabs?

didnt answer the window question, does it get sun?

another posibility is your spray bar on the left side. if there is surface agitation you could be off gassing co2 .

sorry, not near a window, its in an alcove. The spray bar was breaking the surface, i suyppose that could be a reason why it was passing off gas, hmm

I think you need ferts at least micros, iron is needed for most red plants

yeah, i think i am going to have to purchase root tabs and stuff, the tank really looks chopped up right now, it all just needs to grow in again.
