I just bought a thing of frozen krill and another of frozen brine how often should i feed this 2 my jd's i have two of them with 5 other cichlids? thnx

I usually will give mine frozen or fresh food once a day.

but i also have non meat eaters in there omnivivors i think thats how u spell it and i heard its nots good to give them lots of protien so is there a good balance:sick::eek:

What are your other 5 cichlids?

three yellow labs and 2 red zebras i might have to move them later but for now they all get along good

I wouldnt' feed the brine shrimp and krill more then once a week as the zebras wont' be able to take too much and could possibly develope problems like bloat. make sure you dont' feed bloodworms.
So probably 1-2 feedings a wekk depending on how much you feed at one time. Or you can fingure a way to jsut feed the JD without the Mbuna getting too much would be better.

have any of u ever tried feed it to them with tweezers or something like that would they take it or be scared any ides would behelpfull

I actually feed my frozen foods by using the pipette that comes with test kits. It works quite well.The first few times they were a bit scared but once the realized that the eye dropper meant food they come right up to it.
This might work for you depending on how feisty your JD is compared to your mbuna. The mbuna might try to eat the food befor ethe JD can get any.
It should be fine. The labs can take more protein then the zebras as they are insectivoures in the wild but i still wouldn't feed them too much.
So try the eye dropper way,its has really worked for me

i tried using the tweezers and would drop it right in front of them and that worked great and even if another one got it (only happened once) the jack stole it and swallowed it hole just incase any one else reads this post and had the same problem anyways thnx for all the help this a great site helps me alot:laugh:
