Was wondering if anyone can id these two plants for me. The grass im guessing is a dwarf sag? Also whats the best way to trim these or get rid of dead leaves?

Thanks

Anubias (gigantea?)
Dwarf sag

1st one looks like an anubias to me. does it have a rhizome? if so, it whouldnt be buried. the rhizome is like a horizontal root with roots that sprout off of it. keep the rhizome above the substrate

First pic looks more like a sword plant to me. Melon sword maybe. Second one looks like dwarf sag, yes.

To cut back the dying leaves, snip them off all the way down at the base. Could use a bit more lighting and some root tabs.

I said anubias because I thought I saw part of a rhizome...but if thats not one, I would say sword too.

Ok thanks for the ideas. The grass i was pretty sure was dwarf sag, the other i beleive was sold to me as a crypt of some sorts. Its root system looks sorta like a bulb to me with roots comming out from there. Everything was green and happy until i had to fight a bout of ich, im guessing they didnt like the salt/heat.

Any chance you could get a pic of the first plants root system...does not look like any crypt I've seen.

I have that first one as well... I can say it's not an anubius, no rhizome. But, I don't know what it is either!

If not an anubias, I think Kash was right with a melon sword

The roots, yes but not the rhizome itself.
