My new tank stand is open in the back. It's only far enough away from the wall to fit the HOB. I didn't think the cats could fit... but the kitten can! He got one of my bottles of flakes and shrimp pellets, opened them (no clue how) and dumped them all over the floor, inside the stand and sround it. :swear: He also chewed on the bag of algae wafers, but luckily didn't open it.

I also let them get in a bad habit by letting them sit on the bio cube lid. I figured it didn't hurt, it was solid and completely closed. Now they try to fit on the new tank. Grr.
 
kittens are kittens.

for what it's worth..enjoy the antics while you can.
it beats the alternative. losing a kitten is really hard to do.
trust me on this. I just recently lost a kitten to a rare disease.

we have an older kitten(7 mo) that likes to drag out the bags of fish food to bite the plastic ziplock.
 
My tank is pretty high but my cat still loves to get up there. She hasn't managed to get in the cabinet yet, but that is just a matter of time. She's a brat. My avatar is the pic of her on the tank.
 
Oh I do love having a kitten again, we have 2 1 year old cats. One of the 1 year olds, Gizmo, (the one in my avatar) is generally the destructive one. He tends to knock glass off tables and things like that, because he likes to watch them smash. :lol: They all love to watch the fish, Gizmo will sit there for hours and try to get the through the glass. I have a video somewhere, I'll have to find it.
 
I have had the same experience with the fish food. Had to start storing it all in containers. something about those shrimp pellets are totally yummy to my bratty 2 yr old cat.
 
Just be glad that your cat's haven't figured out that if they don't get their way, pooping on the carpet will **** you off. I have three, and two of them insist that they be allowed outdoors whenever they want. If I don't let them out when they ask, they go poop somewhere. 1 will then cover it with whatever she can find (paper, clothing, etc), and mush it down into it.
 
My oldest cat (2 years) insists on drinking from the faucet. I bought a $40 filtered water fountain and she won't touch it, she knocks over cups/bowls/glasses with water and meows and paws at cabinets until I give her fresh faucet water.
 
Aw I am sorry they are frustrating you--- but that sounds so cute! lol.
And I love your picture!

My cat is the EXACT same size as my dog (a shih tzu). She's not fat either she's just a monster, lol. She probably couldn't sit on the top of my tank if she tried. =D
 
My wife used to insist on keeping one of the sinks in our bathroom full of water for her cat (the water bowl wasn't good enough for it) - so although we had a double sink only one was usable.

She doesn't do that anymore... instead she fills the second sink up with hairdryers, curlers and other things for her hair that look like medieval torture devices that I couldn't begin to explain what they do.

Bottom line is- still can't use that sink! (oh and whilst I'm ranting- I counted 12 bottles in the shower- what does anyone need 12 bottles for?)



Our youngest cat is 8 the oldest 10- it's been a while since we've had a kitten in the house- I miss the mischeivious antics they can get into.
