Aquafest09 will be on October 16th, 17th, 18th. I know, I know. You are thinking what is an Aquafest09.

Aquafest09 is a small convention put on by 3 of the clubs in the DC area.
The Capital Cichlid Association,
Potomac Valley Aquarium Society, and
The Greater Washington Aquatic Plant Association.
In 2007 the 3 clubs got together and put on our first joint show and convention.
It is located at the same hotel that hosts the PVAS Catfish Convention on the opposite years. The Holiday in West. Laurel, Maryland. I95 @ Md 198
There will be at least 3 speakers with 4 presentations, the fish show and vendors on Saturday and a large auction on Sunday. Friday will be set up.
The speakers have not been announced yet and we are hoping to have the website up soon. But with the 3 clubs you can bet one will be on cichlids, one on a general fish topic and one on planted tanks.
I am now looking for vendors.
Here is the letter I sent out.
Hello,
My name is Patrick Kelly and I am the current President of the Capital Cichlid Association. The CCA along with the Potomac Valley Aquarium Society and the Greater Washington Aquatic Plants Association are putting together a Fish Show and weekend event. The event will feature 3 speakers giving talks on both fish and aquatic plants, a fish show, raffles, vendors, and an all day Sunday Auction.
We are in the middle of all the planning at this time and are looking for Vendors to come and sell or display their goods. The cost is $50.00 for a 6-foot table or space.
The date is Saturday October 17th. Set up will be Friday after 4pm and all displays must be down Saturday evening around midnight because they use those rooms for church on Sunday.
Space is limited so if you would be interested please let me know in the next few weeks.
