I'm doing some research into limestone at the mo, and I was cutting my samples yesterday. I was quite...excited to find a fossil in it and just thought I'd share
(You can all call me a geek. I don't care...I know it's true!)
Very cool. Limestone can be a suprise and you can find almost anything. When my parents first got their house I helped my dad put in limestone in the back yard all around the pool. One piece had tracks from a prehistoric animal all across them!
Live in the eastern Pennsylvania coal region and use to collect fossils as a kid. Not as good anymore since they started filling all the mining pits. Mostly found ferns and other plants. Nice find.
Nice, I've got a small fossil collection. I've found a few marine invert fossils and also bought/been given some like a trilobite, a croc tooth, and a pretty cool little anenome
