I have a 40g reef setup. It has been up and running for a little over a year now. It has atleast 50lbs of live rock. I use a bakpak skimmer and a fluval 403 canister filter. It has several corals and a few fish, snails and crabs. All the corals seem to be doing ok. they look great but nuthin is really spreading, except for the xenia. For the last 2 months or so I can't get the phosphates below 1. I have been doing w/c of about 12 gallons every 3 to 4 days for the last 2 months. I tried some phosphate removing pads, no luck. I tested the water befor I put it in the tank and get a reading of 0. Any ideas of what I can do to get this down? I was thinking of a reactor. What's a descent one for a small tank? And maybe one that doesn't need a sump. I don't have the room for one since I have the fluval under there. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. thanks

It might be coming from the food you feed.

Just get a bottle of phosban... it comes with a filter bag in the bottle. Stick that in your fluval canister.. walla.. no more phosphates.. ;) Be sure to pre-rinse it really good before use though.

maybe some medias like sera phosvec may help , u can use it w/o reactor and put it in the filter
EDIT : ( seems me and ace was writin at the same time .. do as he sayz ;) )
