Forgive me if this Q has been asked recently, but which brand of cube is best for a nano reef: oceanic, jbj or current usa? I've heard from a friend that his jbj nano cube leaks at times from the top.

Is the skimmer (which is apparently air-driven) made for oceanic's biocube sufficient, or would I need to buy a different skimmer for the biocube? This is if I bought the biocube, of course.

What other equipment would I need to buy to go along with any of these cubes? I'm a beginner in sw, so I'll be going with soft corals and lps. Will I need to buy additional pumps or powerheads for water movement, or are the pumps that come with the cubes sufficient?

I've been scouring the net for reviews on these cubes, but I'm not seeing detailed enough critiques. Thought I'd come here and see what AC'ers have to say :)

I had a BioCube 29, I used it for freshwater, but my dad used it as a reef tank. It leaked, but it was a few years old at that point, and had been moved a couple of times. It also might have been easy to repair, I honestly didn't want the risk, so I didn't try.

It was a great tank though. Plenty of water movement, almost too much for a fw planted tank, the plants got blown around a little. I also upgraded the fans to Silenx ones, the stock ones are a tad loud.

I honestly don't know, the water was coming from side where the plastic meets the glass on the bottom, but I'm not sure if that was the source or not.

I believe that the Aquapod has been discontinued from Current so you should be able to find great deal on one...I have a AP and it leaks from the trim on one corner when it is filled to high and my filter floss is slowing the overflow up
