I was just wondering what people prefer, a full hood or something else, such as a versa top ? I, personally, do not like the full hoods. They're a little too narrow, and I have small hands and wrists. So, what do you prefer ? Thanx.

I learned the hard way that not every glass top will fit every tank. I have 2 75s and the glass top only fits one of them. Make sure you measure before you buy.
In my fish room I prefer the glass tops as it is easy to get 'stuff' in and out of the tank easily. However in the family room the tank must 'look nice' (per the other half) and I use a Perfecto full hood.

i've made hoods for both my tanks, pine for the 2ft tank and stained redwood hood and stand for my 24g Cube. They're in my bedroom so keeping the sound of filters and spraybars inside the tanks is essential.
Im thinking of doing the same for my xbox 360 'cos that thing is a noisy b@$tard!

I prefer the glass and even removed the hinges on my versa tops to allow more light in and allow for better positioning of the light fixture. Plus when working on the tanks, I just remove the front glass piece and slide the back piece with the light towards the rear of the tank. This allows plenty of arm room.

I like canopys, they look nice (we make our own) and it keeps the dang cats from knocking lids into the tanks.

I have both & prefer glass tops for more light options. The only problem I had was with a triple T8 over a 55g. The light is too tall & straight for the lid to stay open without pulling it forward every time making the opening smaller. I put it back on the 75g after a few weeks.
On small tanks I have to lift the entire hood off for major jobs so then the light isn't where I need it. I don't have glass on any small <29g yet but I saw a sliding DIY I may try.
