Do they eat 'em? I thought about getting one but I have planted tanks.

nope, they don't. They are difficult to keep in a tank though because they are largely nocturnal and can be difficult to feed as well as preferring cooler waters.

Rachel is right. I had trouble trying to get them to eat in the tank than in the pond.lol

Yep, they're plant-safe.
It's really the temperature requirements that gets me.. I have such a hard time keeping them alive through the summer. Feeding hasn't been a problem though, they love their spirulina pellets.
