For a standard rule of thumb, what GPH do you have a canister filter to have for your tank? I'm not sure if it's different than HOBs or anything. In my case, I have a 125gal which I'm not sure what I'm going to do with. I know a more heavily stocked tank would need more GPH and all, but I'm thinking like for a regular size community.
Thanks

For average you need at least 3-4 turnovers an hour. HOB's you are better off getting somewhere between 8-10 turnovers per hour. There is usually a greater surface area for filtration and bio development in a canister or a trickle filter (wet/dry).

I like 6-10 turnover on canisters
