My buddy from work had been on me for a while about buying his 150 from him and I really wanted to (and my fish eventually needed a bigger tank), but I didn't have the money. He eventually told me that he wanted it gone, so I could have it now and pay him later as I got the money, so here it is.
I only had room for the 150 where my 75 already was, so on Saturday, I moved the fish to smaller holding tanks and tore down the 75 and stored it with my other currently unused tanks. Here's the last pic of the 75 on Saturday:
On Sunday, we moved the tank into my parent's house. This thing is HEAVY!
On Monday morning, I added the substrate, rocks, and driftwood and filled it up:
I let the water warm up and clear up a little, but I only had one of the three tops, and I wasn't going to risk putting the fish in an uncovered tank, so I waited till Tuesday. I still ended up not having the glass tops, but I was done waiting, so I found some plywood to cover the tank in the meantime, so the fish went in last night (with media from their old tank-I'm keeping an eye on the parameters). I should have the real tops tonight.
The current stock is:
7-8" Albino tiger oscar
6" Green sev
6-7" Flagtail
10-11" Ornate bichir
2 ~4" clown loaches
and a 6" Synodontis nigrita
With that stock, as you can see in the pic, the tank looks pretty empty. I'd like to eventually have it set up as a community tank of medium-sized SA fish. I plan on putting in a divider so that I can add a few smaller fish for the future planned setup to let them grow out some while I figure out what to do with the Oscar and bichir (I really want to keep them at this point, but they don't fit at all into my future plans for the tank)
I'll add more pictures once I have the real glass tops and can add some better lighting to the tank
