i have a bolbitis fern covered in algae and i dont know what to do with it. should i cut the stems close to the rhizome and hope for the best?

You might want an algae eating fish or snail some hydrogen peroxide might help but im not sure if you should dose your whole tank or just the plant, this is what i read not my personal experience

I find getting rid of red or green algae (if that is what you have) on Bolbitis to be next to impossible. If that is what you have. Cutting some of the affected leaves at the rhizome will promote new growth. If you have staghorn, thread, string, or hair algae. Simply plucking it off and adjusting the tank parameters will work. Hooya!
