Hey. So I am currently in the mist of a DIY canopy for my 2.5g. I will post pics as soon as I can, and I am contemplating what I should stock it in terms of plants.

It will house 1 betta, and possible some shrimp and/or snails.

So right now I have a 27watt and a 14 watt spiral CFL bulbs that I am contemplating on using. Which would you think I should choose? (both 5500K)

I have some java fern and anubias that I can put in there, other than that, what should my plant stock be?

Also, what do you guys think in terms of C02, should I go DIY, or flourish excel?

If I end up making my 10gal high-tech I might get a pressurized system going and I can run both of these tanks of of that. But that won't be for quite a while.

what do you guys think?

i would use excel in such a small tank, the diy can possibly kill the fish since its such a small tank. you can use any plants you want really with that much lighting, i would get some ferts and do something like 1-2 java fern, 1 anubias,4-5 blyxa and 1 piece of wood.
