Ok guys, its me back from the dead, i have 2 three foot tanks afour foot and a two foot. All cleaned and waiting for inspiration.
I am trying to decide what to get in the two foot as this will be my girlfriends and she is really keen on the idea.
I was thinking something not too hard, maybe shell dwellers.. Have bred a lot of fish over the years, but i want to have some fish with attitude..

Ideas please... just the 2 foot and we will see how we get on..
Shes really interested in breeding fish..

Regards as always.
Denis;)

First tank I would keep it simple and straight forward, guppys? Easy to care and breed! Planted aquariums always look amazing and need constant attention and cleaning so it could be a way of keeping her attention! You could also fill it with pretty neons or other tetras, again easy care

yes that sounds good, i love planted tanks.
She really likes the hustle and bustle and breeding idea of cichlids.
any other ideas.. thanks oscar for yours

If you want attitude very little will top a school of Exodon paradoxus. Think of a tank full of them as you would a meat grinder!

The 2 footer: 20 breeder? If so I would go planted with Rams or Apistos if you have the $60 or so for a decent CFL light bar. Otherwise I would do shelldwellers, perhaps a single Julidichromis Transcriptus as well. Are you more interested in fish with complicated behavior or pretty landscapes? That would settle your debate.
