I went to ACA for Friday night and all day Saturday. I didn't bring much money, but I was hoping to find something cool to add to my 150.

I ended up picking up 4 F1 Gymnogeophagus labiatus "Rio Olimar" and 4 F0 Geophagus abalios. Last night, while I was acclimating them, I threw together a divider for the 150 since they are definitely too small to go with most of the current stock.

Anyone else can feel free to add any pickups they made at this year's ACA

What did they run you?

Nice Geos! That had a bunch at the MCA expo last year. This years isn't until September in Kansas City.
Did you make your divider?

Thanks guys. The Gymnos were $5/each and $7.50 for the Geos. There were also several other species of Gymnos with little ones like I got for $5, but these were my favorite (there were some gorgeous adults as well, but I couldn't currently afford them, and I can wait to grow my own out). The vendor I got the Geos from also had several German tank strains of other Geos, but I didn't think they were as attractive as the abalios

Yeah, I always make my own dividers. The main piece is plastic "egg crate" and I put foam pipe insulation around the edges to both help wedge it into place and avoid gaps around the edges. With really small fish (like a couple of the Gymnos that I think might be females), I also zip-tie on some fiberglass screen on one side before putting on the pipe insulation. To hold it in place, you can use suction cups on both sides, but I usually just use the decor. For example, in this tank, there is a pile of rocks along the bottom on one side, and there are a couple large pieces of driftwood against the other.

Me neither! I've always liked the abalios and similar species. I hadn't seen the labiatus "Rio Olimar"s until this weekend. I saw several vendors with adult males and they look incredible

Nice fish! Lol I also had a question about the divider was going to ask to see a picture.. cause dividing a 150 would mean a massage divider >:D.

Nice fishies!
