I got 4 new albino corycats today to bump the whole school up to 6.

Now, the store I went to had 5 total albino corys in stock - 4 of the cories seemed fine (swimming/playing at the bottom). One cory was a little odd swimming around on the bottom but also swimming at the very top of the tank belly up.

Well I asked the employee for the four normal cories but of course as soon as the net went in the cories scattered and all started acting normal - long story short, I got 3 normal cories... And the nutty one.

So they are all in my tank and I go to feed them, this 1 cory actually ate upside down from the top of the tank.. Sometimes he acts normal but then soon after he's usually back up at the top swimming.

I put him in a breeder box I have (hooked in the main tank).

Does this sound like a disease? Is he dying? Are my other fish going to get sick? Should I keep him and see if he lives? Treat him? Return him?

Agh I need help. :/

It could be just a swim bladder problem. I think when they behave like this with the surface upside down swimming, etc. usually their health continues to deteriorate, they do not live long.

I had a cory that would swim upside down at the top of the tank for extended periods. He seemed find other than the fact that he swam wierd and ate from the top instead of with the other cories. I suppose it was due to some sort of swim bladder issue. Only lived about 6 months, but never affected another fish.
