hes sick and all the fish keep eating off all of his scales. hes kind of suffering i think. how should i euthanize him? i dont have any weird ingredients to "poison" him with..any other options that dont require me going to the store to do it nicely?

catch em, put em in a cup, dump the cup down 3 stories onto cement?
freeze him?

not trying to sound cruel but yeah...

A cup of water and ice, it will shock his system and he will die instantly

ok i just did it.. got a bucket, filled it with all the ice i had, and put the poor little guy in there..

almost instantly he went into shock and shook really fast..his fins were movin very slowly for prob 10 seconds after. i feel bad :/ all 8 of my barbs, 1 platy, and 1 neon are all dead now

take him outside and throw him as hard as you can on a hard surface. Kills them instantly.

the freezing cold water ususally works fast..

I put a cup in the freezer, like from Mc Donalds, or something filled about 1/2 full of cold water. About an hour later I take it out, it should be starting to ice over on the top.
if needed I break a hole in the ice, then drop the fish in.. usually it dies almost instantly

I have had to do this with a danio. What I did was just scoop them into the cup and place it in the freezer. i thought that maybe it would be a little less painful for the temp to change slowly for the fish instead of the shock all at once.

If you look at the AVMA euthasia guidelines any instantaneous method is okay, freezing is not considered humane unless the fish is already under analgesia. Physically speaking slow freezing causes more suffering than rapid freezing.

Really, I didnt know that. I thought it would have been the other way around. I will keep it in mind if I should I have to do that again.

The only thing quick and instant if you don't have clove oil available is the garbage disposal. It 'sounds' horrific but in being honest we have to admit it's instantaneous.
