I'm new... does this place have moderators that prune the forums and tow things where they need to be?

All product posts should be in the DIY forums.

Guess I never really saw it that way. I can certainly start moving them, if that's the general consensus.

Huh, I was under the impression that equipment was still general freshwater... it doesn't actually specify 'freshwater fish'

The description of the DIY forum says

"A place to discuss/review Equipment & Products. "

And the descripition of gen fw says its a forum to talk about things that dont fit into the other forums.

Don't let him fool you--slip's just trying to drum up more activity in DIY. :D  :D

Sorry I slacked on this one. I'll try to be better about shuttling threads off in the future. ;)

I see your point to moving the posts, but today about 5 threads were moved...:p This could certainly confuse those who are new to this forum. But I do understand why the were moved ;)

I left redirects. That way if they come into FW they can find their posts. It will just direct them to the product and DIY forum. Ill keep doing this for awhile. Eventually if they dont stop, Ill stop doing the redirects, let them find them themselves. ;)

So if a person starts a thread asking which filter would be best for their tank in gen. it will be moved to diy?

Equipment is really not diy. Why not have a equipment only forum. Just a thought.:)

I second the equipment only forum.

Nah, the title is 'Freshwater Products and DIY'....all equipment related. It is not strictly 'DIY' only.

BTY, this thread really belongs in the 'Discussion about Aquaria Central' section, not here in General Freshwater.:p
