my sister just got back from shopping and when she got back she got me these plastic skeletons from the dollar store, i thought it would be kinda neat to have them half way in the sand, but i still dont know if it would be ok in a tank. would it be fine or should i just throw these things away?:feedback:

most of these things came from unregulated countries, China, Pakistan and other countries that i wouldn't trust the chemicals used in them,..

I agree with dixie. You never know what could leach into your water. I suggest going and finding some BPA free plastic things. I would trust them more...

Ditto. The chemicals in the plastic itself or in any paint that might be on it will likely leech out and harm your fish. I believe there are skeletons that are sold for fishtanks that you could use. Or you could put them behind the tank (if you don't already have a background) to make it look like they are in there.

i once read that if you lick the plastic and it has any taste whatsoever, then it is not safe. i don't know how much validity this has though.

Or if you lick it & die, then you know it's not safe for your fish either...

haha, thank you all i gave them to my little cousin and im sure he likes them better than my puffer would have. and plus there must be some kind of glue in the plastic.

hey! I was just at my dollar store the other day and they have some BPA free plastic things, like i saw an aquarium plant!
maybe you should check yours out?

oh nice, im in L.A. right now so i should check that out. also did you see any shells in little baskits? i usually get those (lol-dollar store) but they make great decor once you pick out the best pieces including great snail shells.
