I have one bronze cory left. I guess he/she is bronze-green color. The other one unfortunately passed away this morning :( I had my water checked and everything is great. I was wondering if cories like to be with their own type/color or can you mix pepper cories with bronze etc?

I checked several pet stores and none of them have bronze cories in stock. They have pepper, panda's, and albino's right now but I wasn't sure if my bronze would mix, school with other types??

If it makes any difference I have neons, cardinals and two ottos in the tank.

Thanks! :)

Mingle On.

I love my mixed cory schools.

IME they prefer their own kind. Doesn't mean that a mixed school is not ok though...

They know they're not the same but usually like lots of cory friends, whatever species.

I found young, juvenile cories that are brownish with a small green stripe. I bought two of them and they seem to really like my adult cory. One of them was cuddling up against it while they were resting on the bottom. I don't know if this is some type of mating ritual? The large one and the two small ones are swimming all over the tank and seem quite happy. :)

IME corys like company, I would buy 3 or more depending on tank size. I have 30+ in a 75gal. Make sure that the food gets to the bottom of the tank.

Thanks! I have three now in a 15 gallon. I feed them shrimp pellets that sink before I turn the lights off. They also seem to like the spirulina (sp?) discs I feed the otto's.

You can mix any species of corys adn it has a good effect. Mine will snuggle up in the front corner of my tank and even school in midwater.
