im setting up a new tank for my pygmy leaf chomleleon i got everything i need but only one big wood piece i bought from petco it doesnt seem like enough, so i went to my back yard and found some great pieces of wood from my back yard from the trees we had just cut down anyways i was wondering if it would be fine to used the pieces i cut without washing them or anything? also i live in an area were there it is all nature and no city so this is fresh outdoor wood no toxic anything. (Humboldt county)-thanks for your feed back

What type of tree is the branch from? Most species of pine/cedar or other aromatic woods can be highly toxic to reptiles. It's also best to avoid green branches that still have sap in them. Instead use dead wood that has dried for a while.

ya i had just found smooth dead pieces of wood that have been sitting for awhile, and they look really clean
