I just bought an incandescent canopy for 10-gallon tank and I told the clerk I was going to grow plants in it and she recommended using these brightlight full-spectrum daylight heat lamp bulbs. I opened it up and it has a purplish color to it and at the top of the box it says ESUReptile and pictures of reptiles. I was going to buy the aqua-glo incandescent but she said these are better. Is that true or is she wrong?

i'd suggest taking the hood back and getting a flouro, or buying screw in cf's rated around 6500k. incan sucks. sorry man.

I second the motion. Take it back. Get florecent instead. Much more efficient.

and more aesthetically pleasing. plus it's only a bit more. and cheaper in the long run. incan bulbs burn out about as quickly as you can replace them.
