My name is Kailey, I'm 19 from the Seattle Area, Washington. I'm kind of new to this whole fish thing. Actually my boyfriend is kind of the expert (fish are his pride and joy) but hey he's kind of got me into it. As of right now I have a 55 Gal. freshwater tank which has some guppies and a albino cory. I of course want more I just don't know how to go about that, I guess that's why I'm here so I can get some advice/info about taking care of a freshwater tank. Yeah but other than that I'm just your normal 19 year old, I'm going to school for nursing in the fall, trying to look for a job in between the time, but you know these times are kind of rough... anyways I would love to talk to anyone who has some good advice/info for me. Also I would really like to talk to someone about Discus I've heard a lot of things about them, I just want to clear up some things about them because they are some beautiful fish and I would love to add them to my tank one of these days. So yeah that's about it... feel free to talk to me. :)

:welcome:

i would reccomend more albino corydoras, they are schooling fish and like to be in groups!

Welcome! You've come to the right place to get your questions answered! I reccomend posting your questions about discus in the angelfish and discus section under freshwater, chiclids. They are some beautiful fish.

Welcome to AC!

Welcome, Kailey, to AC. You have come to the right place to learn about fish keeping, and to get help and support when you need it. No question is a dumb question so ask away. The folks here have waaaaaay more knowledge about fish keeping than the kids at the pet chains, always, and even more than the local fish stores (lfs).

Also, these folks aren't influenced by the desire to sell you something.... they just truly want to help you succeed and have fun in your new hobby. They have thousands of hours of experience and incredible tanks. Just look through the photo gallery.

Good advice on the cory. They feel so much happier when they have some buddies of their own kind.
