jewels in a planted tank?

hi- do jewel cichlids destroy live plants? i saw a few nice fish the other day at petco and i am curious if they would be ok in my planted tank. the plants i have are anubias barteri and 2 amazon swords.

Not a good idea if you value the plants.

Anubias should be okeydokey. I don't know about the Swords. I've seen them do okay in e.g. Mbuna tanks, who are even harder on the vegetation than Jewels. I'd say that is a touch hit or miss. Java Fern and Crinium should work out too.
