Ug. Using fish to cycle. Bad karma.
But to answer the question (cause I'm a helpful guy)... 25 should do the trick...

I plan on keeping them and not making them suffer. Iwas going to get 9 and then use them as dither fish for central american cichlids.

Hey, 125 gallons is a lot of water to cycle. I have to assume there's a lot of bioload going into a tank that big, so gotta start it off with a fair amount of fish.

After the 9 tiger barbs I planned on slowly adding the other fish.

hopefully some poison, i will always hate tiger barbs ever since they killed poor betty...:sad

some central american cichlids with lots of caves. About 1 inch or so long.

I meant what species :)
Cause eventually those fish will get bigger than 1 inch, just wondered what was going in.
