So I made a reactor out of part of an old gravel vac, hooked it up to a pequien powerhead, water flow coming in from the top of the gravel vac, with the co2 tubing coming in from the side about halfway down. Worked ok for a little while now I get a big air pocket at the top, and the bubbles do not mix with the water like it did before, so I punched a very small hole in the side thinking that would help, not, I still get the air pocket. What have I done wrong, and how can I improve it.

yes my powerhead is working I can see the water flow into the tube. After I posted this I unhooked the tube from the powerhead to release the air then reconnected it and now it swirls the bubbles, still gets the air pocket down to where I put the small hole some co2 escapes through the small hole but not much and the air pocket does not go any further down than where the small hole. So it seems to be working now.

does your power head have venturi air? if so stick an airhose in it and the other end through your hole. if not make that hose go from the hole to the intake of your powerhead. this will suck the air out and recirculate it breaking up the air pocket and give you better diffusion. i could be wrong but i don't think so considereing i saw this trick posted originally by tom barr himself. i have not tried it myself.
