I bought this at the fish store today. Think they called it some type of grass, but can't remember the name they gave.
The goldfish will probably have it all pulled up by the morning, but it felt strong enough to withstand their nibbling.
(its the tall grassy looking plant)

Thank you!
So far the goldfish have left it alone, if the plant does well, I might have to go back for more.

Those little knobbies on the end make me think it's some kind of dwarf equisetum or horsetail rush.

Horsetail rush is segmented and this isn't. But there are several varieties of common rush (bog plant) that looks like a good match.

Variety Juncus effusus L. var. brunneus Engelm. (http://plants.usda.gov/java/ClassificationServlet?source=display&classid=JUEFB) – lamp rush P (http://plants.usda.gov/java/profile?symbol=JUEFB)

I sent an email to the store, so maybe tomorrow I will know what they are calling it.
We will see who is right, you can keep on guessing...
