Hi, i have a 16 gallon aquarium that has a common pleco in it. I now know that soon he will grow to big for his tank and will have to be moved. But my question is. Are there any plecos that would stay small enough for a 16 gallon aquarium?

Blue Panaque (L239) stay under 3 1/2" and are gorgeous with their dark blue color. Rubberlip Plecs (don't know their L#) are also cool looking and stay real small. And like toddnbecka said-a Bristlenose would be good, too.

A pitbull pleco (LDA25) would be ideal (only reaching about 2"), or L008 (Leapord Peckoltia, 3.2"), or L129 (Hypancistrus sp.- 2.8") as well as the clown pleco which grows about 3.5".

+2 on the Pitbull, rubberlipped, clown, and BN. I have a clown that has not grown an inch in 3 years. Dwarf BN's are another good choice. All of these species are easily found usually locally.

I have a pittbull pleco and he really is a little guy - 2" total and very peaceful....and cute! ;)
