Have a pair in a 20 with fry that are about - um, just looked and some of the fry are about 5/8" and others are only 1/4". was going to ask how soon they would breed again but maybe they already did? Would the parents eat the bigger babies to have new ones or the bigger fry eat the smaller fry or could they all just get along together?

Also, have another pair in a 40long with small jd's, a rainbow, & a nic plus some ameca splendens(Yes I know, too many fish too little tank space, especially with babies coming). Right now the convicts & their fry own 1/2 the tank.
The fry are about a week old. How soon should I move the fry if I am going to?

Also, don't freak, but can I feed the culls to my synspilum?

You can feed the fry to any fish that will eat them. You can move the fry at any time you desire but you will need to feed them. I use Hikari First Bites.

The parents do not eat the fry. They are very good parents. Once they reach an adolescent/teen size it will become a fight over territory. The larger fry will always snack on the weaker ones as natures way of making sure only the fit grow.

I'd feed the culls to anything that will eat them.
