i dont know about you guys but i absolutly love the cliffs of dover by Eric Johnson (which is also the name of my bestfriend in elementary school lol)
and ive decided to do the hardest thing ive ever done, im going to attempt it on trumpet. but i cant seem to find the actual sheet music. ive tried google, but no good results, i need the actual sheet music and not hometyped crap that alot of people have done.

Sheet Music is one of those things the recording industry wants you to pay for, they shut down free sheet music sites as much as mp3 sites, you may have better luck looking in music stores than google.

I actually found a finale (.mus) file written for piano and was going to recommend that you download finale notepad or reader for the free trial period and transcribe it to Bb...but when I tried to import it into printmusic the file was corrupted :swear:

That would be pretty crazy on trumpet. If someone finds it, I might have to try it just for kicks, but I've barely played in over 2 years, so my chops aren't what they used to be

I'm actually bummed because I was going to try it for myself!

well i found a youtube video but its really hard to read it. so you basically have to memorize. im able to play the chorus but very slowly. that was after about 8mins of messing with it in frustration. ill be able to master it though in a few months. im going to have a class everyday for an hour where it will be me and out 2 band directors (no one else signed up for the class) so theyll be able to help me with it. i plan on possibly doing this with another person to make it sound like a trumpet battle with alternating between whose playing with both of us playing on the chorus.

heres the youtube video

email pmed. cant wait to get it. this is really gonna test my limits as not only does it go to the lowest that you can play on trumpet but it looks like it goes all the way to high C. which is the equivilant to trumpet players hell

lol, Hubby (who has a minor in trumpet performance) says it's quite difficult. Good luck! You need to post a youtube vid when you learn it! :)

Great you found it! I play the piano and have had to scrounge of certain songs from internet pdf and sheet music fox. Really unfair it's all so hard to find sometimes free even though many classical composer have been dead 1,2,3 hundred fricken Years!:pc::barf::help2:

Hey Austin, Brandy also emailed me the file from Mr. Jenson...with that transcribed don't be suprised if it takes you more than just a few years to master the entire song.

i already have the chorus memorized but i cant get to fast with it. ive been playing trumpet for 4 years now, but i mainly play by ear and i know how the song goes to where i dont need to listen to cuz ive listened to it soooo many times. if i can transpose it to where i can read it than ill be good to go. plus i have a class this year where ill be with my band director for one-on-one work so it shouldnt take too long.

Austin, what's your range like? I'm only asking because that goes far beyond what most school age players can reach.

um, on a good day i can hit a high C. and whatever the name of that insanely low note is, its all 3 valves held down.

That looks like a pocket trumpet...

btw the "low note" you are thinking of is F# on a Bb tpt.

I'd love to see what you've got so far! You *do* have music, you just can't play it all as written... Just play the high parts you can't hit down one octave on a normal Bb trumpet. It'll sound fine until you work up to the level the piece requires.
