My neighbor and I were taking about the show, and how we like it then started talking about what we had happen. So I have to ask, who watches Ghost Hunters on SciFi and believes in the paranormal? Do you have any experiences?

I think that it's insane to think that there's not something else out there. Do I think Ghosthunters document it? Maybe once or twice, but really it's an entertainment program....jmtc

I do not believe in spirits in the conventional sense - In other words, do I believe that there are wandering souls, doomed to transverse our plane of existence until they can find peace within themselves or closure, or malevolent spirits that seek the ultimate destruction of those they choose to haunt? NO. I don't.
I DO believe, however, that all life contains energy. Like the sun spots that are left on our retina after looking too long at a bright light, that energy can leave a trace, an after image, an echo, when the life form is no longer there. Strong emotions such as anger or sadness leave a stronger echo. Does this phenomenon have a real effect on the living, or do these echos have the ability to affect matter and have a place in the overall scheme of things? No.
Are there things out there that no one can explain? Yes.

I used to watch it when I had cable . The show was fun to watch but they usually didn't find much of anything. I case you remember the show where they were in Ocala ,Florida at the Seven Sisters Inn, I was in Ocala last week and me and my Daughter who is really into the show and my brother, went to the Inn just after dark .It is closed at the moment for renovation but the outside is getting moldy looking and it was fun to look into the windows and my daughter snapped some pics through the window :)
I have had an experience in the paranomal that is kinda creepy a few years ago .

Seven Sisters Inn</B>
The Seven Sisters Inn are two beautiful Queen Anne-style Victorian houses in Ocala, Florida. They offer candlelit dinners, gourmet breakfasts, accomodate weddings and even have murder mystery events. A perfect bed & breakfast to get away. One snag though. The inn has permanent guests who will keep you on your toes.
Seven Sisters International House (purple) was built in 1892. It contains 13 bedrooms each with its own themes, representing the many locations owners Bonnie Morehardt and Ken Oden have traveled to. It is believed the house was built on the very spot of a triage nearby Fort King. Her sister, The Scott House (pink) may or may not be on the site of a battle between soldiers and Seminole Indians. The original house was built in 1888 but burned down.
Most of the experiences described are that of playfulness. TAPS discovered this first hand. During a K2 session, something was making it light up in a childish manner. At one point in the evening, Jason and Grant attempted to debunk claims of something tripping people on the staircase in the purple house, I think. Jason took off his flip-flops and climbed up the stairs. Once he reached the top, a small dark mass ran from a room to left of him down the hall. After searching for it, they went back downstairs where Jason found only one of his shoes where he left them. They searched the house for almost half and hour and finally found it in the middle of a room they weren't shown during the tour.
Another experience they had consisted of a K2 Meter and a chair. I believe it was in the purple house. Jason and Grant were trying to track down the origins of a voice and shadows when they came across a spike on the K2 Meter on a chair. The interesting part about it was Grant traced the outline of a person with it. Everytime he went outside the "outline", the K2 went dead. On top of that, the chair was cold. They both sat in it and felt the chill coming off of it. When they checked it again with the K2, whatever may have been there disappeared.
TAPS gained quite a bit of personal experiences but little evidence to back it up. So, is the Seven Sisters Inn haunted? Spend a night there and find out.

I have had some strange things happen a while ago. Im from west virginia, only about 30 minutes from harpers ferry. Tons of stuff happens there because of the slaves and civil war.
some of what I see on the show does seem staged, but at the same time, some of it I have had similar things happen....

I love the Ghost Hunters show. I do believe in ghosts. I grew up in a house that was haunted. It was built in the 1860s. There was both residual hauntings and intelligent hauntings. The residual was of an old school marm that used to live there and was taking care of her ailling father. She would walk up and down the stairs or appear in certain rooms. She would not appear in the new additions to the house. It was like she still saw the house as it was when she lived in it. There were also some children spirits (My sister actually saw then dart from a room. Two little girls who looked like they were playing tag.I never saw them. Just heard them or saw the things they did.) that would kinda like mess with you. It wasn't malicious or anything. They just wanted to make sure you knew they were there. They would move things right infront of you. Knock things off of tables and such. Once my dad dared them to turn off a light to prove they were there and they did. It was a dimmer light that had to be turned down and then pushed in to turn off or on. They turned it down, clicked it off, and then clicked it back on and turned it up. I have never seen my dad so white before (he still do this day doesn't believe it and thinks one of us kids did it). Once I came home from school and the children were running from room to room (they also never appeared in the new parts of the house). I sai, "COULD YOU PLEASE QUIET DOWN!" They stopped and then slowly tiptoed back upstairs. There was also a guy who would appear from time to time leaning up against the wall in a certain doorway. (Probably what would be considered another residual haunt.)
It is really freaky when you are a little kid to grow up in a house like that. For a long time I would sleep with all the lights on in my bedroom. I would never go into a dark room. I wouldclose my eyes, run in, and turn on the lights. I never wanted to be in that house alone.
The house has since been sold and I wish we had contact with the new owners because I would love to know if they have had the same experiences in there. I also woulda loved for the Ghost Hunters to come and investigate that place. I am sure they woulda had a ton of experiences.

I love the original Ghost Hunters show, but all the spin-offs just get on my nerves. I agree with Luvbugz about the other shows.
I also believe in, well, I'm not sure ghosts, but something. I used to not believe, but I was never opposed to the idea. But, as of late, my house has gotten to the point where I can't not believe. We've lived in this house for over ten years, and we have always had things disappear, but, since I have six siblings, my parents always dismissed the idea that it was a ghost, even though my older siblings insisted. The first thing that happened to leave an impact on our beliefs happened several (8-ish?) years ago. At the time, we had a dog and a cat, both of which I was responsible for feeding. We kept the food in the attached garage that has a door that leads into the kitchen. I would take both the dog and the cat dish to the garage at the same time, and set whichever one I wasn't filling on the stairs behind me. I filled the dog dish first, turned around the get the cat dish, and it was gone. I thought my mom, who was in the kitchen, was goofing off and took it, but she said she didn't. We have never found the dish since.
After the cat dish disappeared, we didn't have anything big happen for a while after that, other than the occasional thing disappearing only to be back in its original spot a few days later, random knocks (always dismissed for noises from the house), or us kids thinking our parents were calling our names (this has happened to, I think, every single one of us kids at separate times and multiple times, sometimes the voice calls our real name, but sometimes we hear a nickname). The next big thing that happened occurred in the kitchen, when two cups and two cans fell out of the cabinets on different sides of the room as my mom was leaving the kitchen. Two of the cabinet doors closed after the things fell, the other two remained open. My mother thought maybe it was a tremor, so called the organisation that records earthquakes (I forget the name of it) to find out, and they said there was nothing. She called a couple TV stations and another local weather group, all of whom told her there was no seismic activity in the area. We have never been able to explain that.
I could go on and on about other things we have experienced, including footsteps, a broken windchime (inside), another cup falling out of the cabinet, something flying off the counter in the kitchen, a possible full body apparition, knocking (not noises coming from the house), voices, my mom feeling a hand on her shoulder, and even an EVP (we weren't looking for one, one of my brothers was just playing with his tape recorder), but that would take a lot of time. Things happen in clusters (two or three things within a week and then nothing for months), happen mostly in broad daylight, in the southern half of the house, both upstairs and downstairs, but not in the basement, and tend to happen when our usually somewhat-messy house is clean, being painted or other work being down, or when we have lots of guests at the house. I think in the beginning it was only a residual haunting, but as of late, we're thinking it's an intelligent haunting.

I have never seen that show but I do believe that spirits are real. A couple of years ago I lived in a very old house here in NC and I was sitting on the couch with my dog watching TV, he quickly turned his head to look in the dining room and I looked to see what he was looking at and there was a white fuzzy shape (appeared human size) moving across the room. It was sooo cool! I doubted my self but the dog saw it first.....I mentioned it to a neighbor and she said "oh yea, others have seen it too" and that it was the elderly lady that had lived in the house when it was built approx 100 years ago. she lived there for many many years and died there. The people that moved in after us, could feel a presence and had monks come out and bless the house. My niece would not go into the house alone, she feel uneasy about something.....wierd!
My personal belief is that there isn't such thing as a soul... So the idea of a soul trapped and wandering the earth seems very unlikely. ;)
That said- I don't know everything. Is there something that resembles ghosts living on earth? Perhaps- I highly doubt it- but it's possible. Sure, some things are unexplained and spooky... for example- why do people buy Celine Dion music?
Personally I think it all boils down to one of human kinds basic survival instincts. (imagining ghosts not buying bad music).
Take caveman X and caveman Y. Caveman X hears a rustle in the grass behind him "YIKES IT'S A SABRE TOOTH TIGER".
Caveman Y hears a rustle in the grass behind him "It's only the wind, ignore it".
Clearly evolution would favour caveman X. Because if he's wrong- he just looks an idiot and lives... if caveman Y is wrong he becomes catfood.
We as a species are trained to imagine scary scenarios when we hear grass rustling in the wind- I think this is why some people imagine ghosts. We're wired to imagine things.
I could be wrong- and I might become catfood one day... but personally I think it's just our evolutionary past making us imagine up ghosts, goblins, demons, and Celine Dion.

the show is staged, but the places they go to are real,.. and the stories are for the most part true,..
i live in a house that was haunted and after a few fights and reassurances we have now peaceful time.
no more occurrences weather they are still here or not don't know just don't come across anything., other than i hear things that no one else does,.. but me and the dogs hear them at the same time,.. but the kids and hubby don't
I'd say i was going loony, but every time i hear them the dogs bark too so they can hear it,..? so i know I'm not loony just in tune with them,,.. also we have a 1700's cemetery here also,..lol and my house was used when the old church burned for the 3 rd time as a place to lay out the dead,..lol funny no one told me this before we bought it,..lol
also something keep trying to burn this house and something else keeps putting it out
its the 2nd house on the same basement, and in 2002 Christmas morning we woke and my boy was in bed with me and he had soot mark in his nose and i look up and everything was black,.. go up and out called911 and chimney was blocked and furnace went boom,..
no flames in house,.. and after a few months the neighbor said he saw a ball of flames shoot out my chimney a 5 am we woke up a 7 why the h*ll didn't he call 911??? he's a bit loony anyway,...
so something was watching over the house,.. and after we tore out he stuff insurance said we needed to clean it we saw the upstairs boards have been on fire before also the flooring in the living room also was burned before,.. ??
spooky,.. the more i learn about this place the more interesting it is,..
do i believe yes i do also believed before,.. my mothers side of the family seem to have encountered spirits also so i must be prone to connect to them on a small scale,..
no what i needed, but hey, better than cable...;)

Was watching tv during the day a few years ago and had a thought about an old friend I used to work with . He is dead now. Anyway, right after I had the thought about him within a couple minutes this round white orb looking thing about the size of a softball passes directly in front of the tv for about 2 feet and it looked to be about a foot in front of the tv. I thought what the heck !!!!!!!!! I looked around to see what could have caused a reflection of whatever and couldn't. Then within another minute or so I heard a loud click at the tv cabinet. I go over to the cabinet an see that the magnetic latch on the glass door has popped open. I thought thats strange because it never did that on it's own before. Well that was all until the next day when I realized that the cd that my friend used to sing to all the time at work when the songs came on ( and we made fun of him the way he tried to hit the high notes) was IN the cd player and the cd case was in the open position like book on top of the tv cabinet.
Maybe all coinsidence but that is a lot of coinsidence at the same time all right after the thought of him enters my mind, kinda like I felt his presence and then there he was !!!!!!!! Strange !!!!!!! Like he was trying to get to his music :)

I absolutely believe that there are things that most people cannot sense or understand. I actually prefer "Paranormal State" (A&E Monday nights at 11 pm I think) to "Ghost Hunters." I don't know how much these shows are staged, but they do provide a certain amount of entertainment and Paranormal State seems a bit less so than what I've seen on Ghost Hunters.

I think the shows are for entertainment. I know my son loves to watch them with me .I enjoy them and I know I've watched some haunted hotel shows that have made me jump:) But I completely believe in ghosts as I also grew up in a house that was haunted. Me and my sisters would here someone calling our names or here children laughing. Doors and cabinets opening and closing .It was quite scarey as a child. I never liked being alone in their house. When my son and I spent a night at my parents house when he was 4 yrs old he started pointing to the bedroom door screaming monster! Every hair on my body stood as I tried to stay calm and ask him what he saw. I asked what the monster looked like and he said it was a little boy. I asked him what he wanted and he said he was lost and scared and cold. Then my son said the monster wasn't talking to him with his mouth. And then he said he wasn't afraid of the monster anymore. After this my son seemed to have quite a connection with the after life (or I finally paid attention to him talking to what I thought was noone)until he was about 11. He would talk to his deceased friends and tell me stories of who would visit him. I think if people believe in nothing they should watch their pets or listen to children as they see so much more then we do:)

LOL!!!!
guys....
To me the show is too silly to watch. I don't get into a bunch of people wandering around in the dark scaring themselves. Since there is no verifiable data that ghosts exist I find It hard to believe they do exist. I'm not the kind who lets blurry, poorly taken pictures convince me. I'm not the kind who believes in junk science. I think that Bigfoot is a possibility but until an actual beast (dead or alive) is hauled in and examined I don't believe in them either. But to consider fleeting sounds, drafty rooms, poorly taken pictures, etc as any kind of indication of the presence of a spirit is just silly IMO.
