Well, I had grand plans to set up a new tank! I was looking at tanks for sale, planning it all out and THEN.....

It all started with our dog getting out of the yard yesterday morning. We were gone and animal control picked her up. So this morning we went to bust her out of "doggy jail" and were inexplicably drawn to the cats for adoption. To make a long story short, we left with one jailbird dog and three new additions to the family - 2 kittens and a cat. We were just going to get the kittens but my 2 year old wouldn't leave the cage where the older cat was, she loved her! So I asked about adopting the older cat too and they said they would waive her adoption fee for us since we were adopting the kittens too. So we have three cats now. I have to go buy lots of goodies for our new kitties so I think the new tank will wait a while yet. But that's ok!! We are happy to have saved three souls today! :-)
Just a warm fuzzy story for ya!

Any pics? I would have a couple cats if they allowed them where I live

I will post some pics soon. We don't actually have them home yet. The shelter is holding them for us for a day or so we can install a kitty door for them.

Now great!

Is the kitty door from the inside to the outside? I'd give them some weeks to settle into the new home before allowing them outside so they have a strong sense of home.

I would love pictures!

no, the kitty door is for going into the utility (laundry) room where their litter box will be. we keep that door closed and locked because it also leads to our hottub and with three small kids we keep the door locked. They will be strictly indoor kitties except for eventually they will be able to go to the screened in porch area. We live close to a hi traffic road and they wouldn't be safe outside. I will definitly post pics in a few days!

Oh, so we have a very similar life!
I home school my oldest who just turned 7. The middle one is nearing 3 and the baby is almost 15 months and newly walking. It's lively around here!

I wouldn't trade it for the world.

my oldest just turned 5, middle one is 3, and youngest just turned 2 a few weeks ago! My oldest is excited about going to preschool next month. Our local zoo has a preschool and he keeps asking, "Mommy, is it time to go to animal school yet?" :-)
