I'm back from the Austin area and I did get some rocks. Not the load I did in April, but I think I got some good ones. Pics are coming in the next post on this thread. :grinyes:

I just got back from my trip down to the Austin area. I went down to visit my sister, and while there I planned to go over to the site of her daughter and son in law's house to look for more THR. They actually are building in the George Town/Cedar Park area.
Many of you know of my trip down there in April, and that I picked up and dug up a lot of THR on the property.
My niece and nephew-in-law's new house is coming along. It is going to be 4,200 square feet. My sister lives near there in Leander, and we went over to the site. The pool excavation is exposing a lot of solid limestone with no holes, but they are beautiful snow white rocks.
The house is being built on a rise and I understand that the holey ones tend to be on the downward slope of a ridge. The house is being built right on the top of a ridge and I found good ones on the slope. There was a hole in the ground where a tree was uprooted and there was a good vein in it. I got down in this hole and worked some out of the sides of the hole.
I also found some walking down the ridge that were just laying on top of the ground, just partially buried. I didn't have any help so my energy played out pretty quick in 100 degree heat.
The pics below are of the rocks still in my trunk. Where you see the dark spots, that is dirt and mud in the holes so I think these are going to clean up and reveal some nice holey rock. I got home late so I'm going to wait until tomorrow to soak them for a while and try to hose them out. It takes a lot of work to gouge out the hard dirt and then I'll take some pics once I've done that.
I have a couple of pics of the house, and I took some pics of some big piles of limestone rock that had been dug up, but I think I accidently erased them.
I wish you guys could go with me to help me, lol. I'll go back again soon. My neice thinks when they dig the septic system there will be some primo rocks, since this is going to be further down the ridge.
Here are some pics of what I got on this trip. The rocks are still in the back of my SUV.

They are really pretty when cleaned up. I saw a stone yard while I was there and intended to stop in and see if they had any. If they did I was going to see what they were asking per pound, but I was running late getting away so I didn't get a chance.
I know there's a place in San Antonio that sells holey rock for .15 per pound, but it's not the Grade A stuff that is full of big holes all through it. I've seen pictures of it though and it looks really nice.
I wish they weren't so far from me and it didn't cost so much to ship it, but at .15 per pound.... that's not too bad.
