Ok a week ago I did a major clean up of my 125g. Removed self-built wet dry filtration in 65g sump and cleaned the bottom of some debris, cleaned everything!, did a 30g water change...for the first month and a half I had your normal cycle Nitrates, but since then NONE, 8 months later...until now....it's at about 15 and my coraline algae that just started to take off (on glass and in refugium) is turning white...please help..it seems like i jarred some stuff and messed up my water quality...I recently added a 4" clam and 4 small frags of zoanthids...please help I don't want my clam to die,,,hes cool...

check to see all the turbo snails are still alive, they have temperature requirements different from most animals and have a habit of dieing if aquariums. and being so big if just one died it could be catastrophic, but I'm not sure if that would kill the coraline...

it doesnt matter whats in your water as long as you do waterchanges you can get it out

Ok I don't like API..here is my water ph: 8.3-8.4, A:0 Trite:0 Alk: 11 Phosphate: maybe .5 CA:500 .here's my problem, or question? this is the second time it has happened...I'm down to the last in the API bottle and I think it gives a false reading,( anyone else get that?) cause I just got a new test kit today and it says less than 5 for nitrate...it can't just disappear..unless my caluerpa used it up, or the plelum took care of it or my tank just did a mini recyle when I added the new corals...anyway mini- freakout...now what about the coraline?...I do add iodine and iron...forgot about the goniopora I have and the lil acan..but only half the dose daily 16 drops of each
