One of my two Zipper Loaches has a white mark on the front of its head (snout/nostril area). It isn't risen up like a growth, it seems more like discolored skin. Has anyone ever experienced this before, and if so, what can I do to help the little guy? It seems to be behaving normally.

Thanks

Could you post a photo? That would help. It could be a minor injury where he bumped into somthing, but there's always the possibility that it is something else... so a pic would be very helpful.

At present moment I cannot provide a picture but I will check when I get home from work and try to write up an exact description. I have a soft substrate and the tank had no rocks, only driftwood. It could have bumped something maybe or gotten into a tussle with the other loach. I'm just worried about some kind of bacterial or fungal infection.

Thanks Melody, I will check it out tonight.

The problem seems to have cleared itself up -- the spot is already gone. I'm not sure what it was, as there's nothing white in my tank to rub off on the loach. Maybe just a scrape that healed over quickly. Oh well, case closed.
