i added 50lbs of LR to my tank that has been cycling for bout a week (already had 50lbs/50+50) my ammonia is off the charts(scale of very light yellow to dark green its almost black) and i have done 2 small water changes but its still very high. all 4 of my bl/gr chromis perished and have dissolved in just 2 days.i couldnt get em out in time because they were fine until i added the new LR but died shortly after. massive ammonia spike. actually i have nobody to talk to on this subject so i talk here. i dont know anyone in the hobby personally.but anyway i keep thinking my ammonia will suddenly drop but it doesnt.it has been maxed for 3 days now. is it gonna drop soon?

It seems like it takes forever, but phase I of the cycle (ammonia dropping) will probably start after about a week. Then nitrite will skyrocket, and will take even longer to plateau.
If there is stuff alive on the live rock, and you want to keep it alive, I would start doing larger water changes. When you say "small," what %?

I'd push for a couple of 25% changes this week. Let's see what everybody else has to say.

I agree--the water changes should help. I would probably do one of about 25%, test, then do another--until you can get a good reading on the ammonia levels.
