It's finally time for some of the baby L144 BN plecos to be sold. There are long fins and short fins, all from the long-finned parents. This batch hatched 6/22 and are 1.25" to 1.50". Long finned babies are $14, short fins are $7. Will ship using USPS priority mail. Pics of mom, dad and babies below.

How much for two to 03766? I bought two of your sp. pucullpa awhile back. These blue-eye ones are very pretty.

Down the line I would like to introduce these into a breeding group.
So are these the same as Albino Bristelnose Longfins regulars besides the blue eyes?
Like if I introduced a male into my breeding group, some babies would be blue eyedd?
Thanks

They are not the same species as common albino bristlenose. They are originally from a single amelanistic male which was exported from Paraguay and was spawned with a normal colour female and later bred back with his own daughters to fix the mutation. Amelanistic is the absence of dark colored pigments that results in a yellow colored fish (as in L144) with normal coloured eyes. This is different than albino fish. The L144 are not commonly available. I wouldn't breed them to albino longfins. Those of us that are breeding them are trying to preserve the line and keep it true.

Some mature a little sooner than others, so they can begin to spawn as early as 9 months of age, some a little older. In my experience with Bristlenose, they've matured before they were a year old. Good diet and tank conditions help too. This batch is 2 and 1/2 months old.

Recieved today. Absoultely stunning! Thank you so much. These are an awsome addition to the tank. Very nice to have something that's not just the common LFS stock. Was very funny to see them go straight to work on my glass (It just so happend that I havn't cleaned it in 3 weeks in anticipation of their arrival) and driftwood. Looking forward to watching them grow.

Debbi - do you have any short fins left? i might be interested on one of these guys (or gals) and i might find myself down near florham park on tuesday or wednesday of next week so maybe i can arrange a pickup...
just for a little more information one of these fish would be ok in a 30 gallon community tank, and they will help take care of algae but will definitely need additional food supplements.

Coach - I should have 2 or 3 regular fins left. I'm packing up a bunch of orders on Monday night and will know for sure then. One would be fine ina 30G community, they are totally peaceful. They will eat biofilm and any soft algae and diatoms from everything in the tank and do need to be supplemented to complete their diet. Zuchinni slices and algae wafers are normal fare for bristlenose. Mine get a variety of sinking pellets/sticks. Pickup would be easy for you. I work in Parsippany which is a hop away from Florham Park, so I could take the fish to work!
