i got 2 = 20 gal tanks they both have t5 2x24 lights 1-10k and 1-24 watt fresh water. i was given a 10 gal tank with the screw in lights light is rated for 2 - 25 watt light bulbs. i put my shrimp in there with a moss ball and some moss that was given to me dont know what kind it is had it growing under flour. lights in other tanks. i cant find flour. lights for the tank would there be enough light to the plants if not any one know where i can get 20" t5 ho light for the tank

Replace the standard incandescent screw ins with PC conversion bulbs.

Yeah, the spiral fluorescent bulbs can come in 6500k daylight, better for plants. I got them at Walmart & they come in several wattages, I think mine are 15w. Go higher if there's enough clearance in the housing.

walmart - ge daylight or,
home depot - n:vision daylight
i like the walmart ones better. i get more growth and less algae ime.

ill try those out.was thinking of just get t5s for my hospital tank a 20 gall then use the five for a hospital if they dont work out cant remember when the last tank i had had the screw in lights. thanks again for the help going to hardware store pick them up in the morning

went to the store this morning and picked some 15 watts up they were to big for the hood so i swapped them out with 14 watts i had. if it dont work out ill up grade my 20 gall tank light and use that .thanks alot guys playing the waiting game now.
