Well I decided to jump right in and start up a discus tank. My first purchase were 4 Brilliant Turquoise off Craig's List these were not perfect, but I thought that they would be a good learning tool. These were not very expensive and available locally which was a good plus also.

I managed to keep them alive. On a trip to one of the closest fish stores to purchase food I found out that they would begin to carry Discus.

My first purchase was a Blue Snakeskin and a Royal Blue Discus.

A week later my next purchase was a Red Pigeon Blood.

After a few weeks they began residing together in a bare bottom 55 gallon.

After a couple of weeks I added some driftwood to their tank and had been floating some plants. After another week I decided to add substrate and actually plant the plants.

Last Wednesday I got a call from the store and they told me what was available to order, so I choose White Spot Red Pigeon Blood and a Rainbow Pigeon Blood and went and picked them up on Saturday.

For my next purchase I plan on a Stendker Flachen and a Stendker Silver Pigeon. After that possibly a Marlboro Red and/or Fire Red both also Stendker's.

As soon as I get the stand refinished they will reside in a 125 gallon Acrylic tank that my husband got me for my birthday.

She did have me for inspiration, lol! Everytime I tell her a tank is stocked she goes out and gets a new one

Like she said, the only way to thwart the Tank Nazi is to buy a bigger tank!

I am going to clear out my tank for the most part, and am thinking of keeping discus, from your experience, will they do good with kribs? Or should I move them?
