The gravel I originally bought for my tank was ugly beyond belief. I went to the LFS today and purchased some smaller black silica gravel and went through the process of changing it out. This is quite an ordeal even in a new 10 gallon tank. BTW I did this because I knew that further down the line I was going to want it changed but new it was best to do it now while I was still cycling my tank. Anyone have any horror stories about gravel changes to share? I'm sure I've set back my cycle a week or so with all the bacteria lost.
